It has long been the norm at the Windsbach manufacturing plant to manage data centrally, have relevant information available in real time, and have fast and continuous digital communication at all times.
Alexander Volkert, a systems engineer, is at the heart of the data streams. He is responsible for the production interfaces, among other things, and ensures that information and data flow seamlessly. He is also central to the construction of the new 9,000-square-metre (96,875-square-foot) manufacturing plant expansion, for which he is currently planning and building the physical and virtual IT infrastructure.
